Etal is a wonderful new product for artists that is real metal but is flexible and can be worked as easily as paper and fabric. Etal FAQ: Sewing: Etal is easily sewn by hand or machine, embroidered or hand beaded with standard needles. Holds thread without tearing. Cutting: Cuts cleanly with scissors, razor blades and paper cutters. No frayed edges. Painting: All latex, acrylic and oil paints can be used. Printing: Can be printed with a copy machine, ink jet printer or by silk screening. *Not all product surfaces are appropriate for your printer. Stamping: Use any standard stamping ink. Smooth textured Etal will result in clearest images. For writing or drawing use any of your favorite inks and pens. Smooth textured Etal will result in clearest images. Heat Forming: An embossing gun can be used to melt edges and create other effects such as dimensional surface features. Embossing/Crimping: Etal can be hot or cold embossed/crimped. Folding: Needs to be creased firmly but folds and wraps well for covering most surfaces including book binding. Punching: Tougher than paper. Die cutters work best. Gluing: Glues such as 3M Spray 77, E6000, Crafter's Pick and Mighty Tacky have the tightest permanent bond. Memory Book Glue Dots and Adhesive Tech work well. Metal Colors: All metals have protective coatings to prevent them from changing color. Due to the reflective and textured nature of the material and your individual computer screen the samples are just approximations of the actual colors. The shine of the metals really doesn't show on the screen.
